NEW YORK - June 16, 2003 - On June 25-27, 2003, in Bolognano, Italy, a medieval village not far from Rome and very near the city of Pescara, will be held the first FREE INTERNATIONAL FORUM of Art and Culture.

During these three days, almost one hundred artists, philosophers, art critics and musicians, from the most diverse countries such as Italy, Portugal, Brazil, the United States, France, Switzerland, China, Iran, Bosnia, Israel and Germany. They will be presenting contemporary artworks, installations, performances, music concerts, conferences and papers. The event will be free and open to public.

The Forum was created by Lucrezia De Domizio, Baroness Durini, a legendary personality of the contemporary art universe.
Lucrezia De Domizio, Chevalier by the French and Italian Governments, collaborated with Joseph Beuys for about twenty years, until his disappearance in 1986. She wrote and published 56 books on contemporary art. Since the 80s, she founded the magazine RISK ARTE OGGI, in Milan.

Bolognano is a medieval town on the top of the Abruzzo Mountains, surrounded by a magnificent landscape, and located only twenty minutes from Pescara, and about one hour from Rome. Since the 60s, gradually, Bolognano has becoming, thanks to the Baroness Durini's efforts, into a fabulous open-air museum of contemporary art. By its old streets, dating more than one thousand years, it is possible to easily find artworks by Joseph Beuys, Mario Merz, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Mario Bottinelli Montandon and many others. In the 90s, Lucrezia De Domizio transformed her palace, dated of the 16th century into a house of art, recovering some of the most genial ideas of Lorenzo de Medicis, il Magnifico.

The FREE INTERNATIONAL FORUM of Art and Culture has as Directors and Curators Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta, a musician, architect and photographer who lives between New York, Lisbon and Milan; Antonio d'Avossa, art critic; and Amnon Barzel, philosopher of art.

For Pimenta, European Prize by the AIVAC, author of several books, compact discs, and composer for Merce Cunningham among others since 1986, the FORUM «will be an important step in the process of a true dialogue of civilizations, so fundamental in our days. The main finality of the FORUM is to become a world meeting point of artists, philosophers, musicians, critics as well as people from different disciplines».

The FORUM will count with the participation of important personalities such as Massimo Dona, Marco Bagnoli, Carla Sanguineti, Omar Galliani, Renzo Tieri, Ingeborg Lusher, Italo Tomassoni, Annick Thebia Melsan, Eduardo Reck Miranda, Leonello Tarabella, Stefano Taglietti and Qi-Kai Zhang among many others. William Anastasi and Dove Bradshaw – two among the most important artists from New York – will represent the United States.

The opening of the FORUM will also have the presentation of the artwork collection curated by the Ars Aevi Contemporary Art Museum of Sarajevo, with works by Joseph Beuys, Marco Bagnoli, Ingheborg Lüscher, Mirsad Sehic, Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta and Renzo Tieri for the Biennial of Venice.
