BRIEF BIOS
Cheryl Akner Koler, artist and professor
in applied aesthetics at Department of Industrial Design, Konstfack
University college of Arts Crafts and Design, Stockholm Sweden.
She teaches in the Bachelor and Masters program in form theory
and the development of product gestalt. Her interests are in
developing knowledge that supports the formgiving phases within
the design process which combines experiences from the fields
of art, technology, humanities and science. Akner Koler has lectured
and given workshops through out Scandinavia including; Oslo school
of architecture, Aarhus School of Architecture, Lund University,
Umeå University Design school, Aalborg University, Chalmers
Technical Design. She also conducts workshops for private design
firms. Akner Koler has produced more than a dozen solo art exhibitions
and has lead a number of cross-discplinary projects with physicist
and other artists and architects. Recently she received a 3 year
grant from the Swedish Research Council to conduct a Cross-disciplinary
project in Complexity and Transformation that was based on laborations
of changing physical phenomena. This study has generated many
spins off exhibitions, lectures, workshops and articles.
